About This Show:

What a piece of work is a man?

Something is rotten in the state of Denmark. Poison, corruption and death linger between the cloister and the battlements. The youth of the castle are lost, idling in inaction, attempting to decide the fate of the nation. Will immediate decision making bring justice or will revenge break a family, their friends and the very honour of the crown.

Madness lurks and spies abound in this thrilling reimaginingof Shakespeare’s most thrilling revenge tragedy by renowned director Jason Klarwein (Othello and The 7 Stages of Grieving).

Nature has gone to weed in Denmark and Heaven may not be able to save the adults of the kingdom but can the youth save themselves from the clutches of hell?

Using the literary devices of Elizabethan/Jacobean text this work delves into the themes of corruption, power and surveillance, destiny vs free will, tragic heroes, gender roles, revenge and justice.
