About This Show:
There are over 7 billion people in the world. What if you could make all of them your friend?
In the not too distant future, growing old looks a little different. Thanks to a fantastic scientific discovery, wisdom no longer comes with age. In fact, ageing is ugly. Death is culturally shunned. Wisdom now comes with a strict regimen, and it’s all government and corporate mandated.
But what happens when age no longer automatically equals authority? Can teenagers really make a difference when the world is set against them? When side effects start to spread and citizens become aware of the lengths the powers that be will go to maintain order, the only answer is revolution.
Originally written for Queensland Theatre’s The Scene Project, David Burton has returned to the script in this very special Grin and Tonic production designed especially for schools starring Chelsea Burton (Hooray for Hollywood, Ordinary Days) and Lachlan Dodds (The Wizard of Oz, The Sound of Music).
