About This Show:
Shipwrecked and separated from her twin brother, Viola washes ashore in Illyria with nothing but her wits and a very convincing disguise. To survive, Viola disguises herself as a male page named Cesario and enters the service of the lovesick Duke Orsino… only to fall hopelessly in love with him herself.
But the Duke longs for Olivia, Olivia falls for Cesario, and nobody is quite who they seem. As mistaken identities multiply and a household of fools, revellers and one very self-important steward collide, Shakespeareʼs great comedy of love and misrule spins gloriously out of control.
This fast-paced reimagining brings the music, wit and chaos of Twelfth Night into the classroom. With outlandish physical comedy, musical charm and Shakespeareʼs language of love, this 45-minute full retelling of the play explores identity, gender, desire, deception and belonging.
In Illyria, love makes fools of everyone.
